Task

First, Research the following periods of art history:

• Renaissance
• Baroque
• Rococo
• Late 19th Century
• Early 20th Century
• Late 20th Century

For each period, you need an example of:

• sculpture
• painting
• architecture

You will also need three historical facts that affected the art of the time. When deciding what is relevant, ask yourself the following questions:

• What role did the arts play in the events of the period?
• What was going on during that time that was represented in the works of art?
• What was the purpose of art during this period?
• Who commissioned the works of art? What kinds of art were commissioned?
• In general, what was the focus of the art (what were they painting, sculpting, or building)?

When finished, your timeline will show 6 sculptures, 6 examples of great architecture, and 6 paintings (1 for each period). It will also show 18 historical events/facts (3 for each period).
