In my earlier years I went to a private school located in Jackson, Michigan called Lumen Christi High School. I began teaching at W. Mack Lyon Middle School, my present school site, in August of 1996, right after I graduated from Eastern Michigan University. I have taught many subjects, including Careers, English, Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, but I now teach Art, Advanced Art, Computer Literacy, Advanced Computers, Web Design, and Yearbook. Besides a small stint as a preschool teacher in Michigan, I have spent my whole teaching career here at Lyon Middle School. I hope to continue to do so until I retire.

My husband, Randy, and I have been married since 1975. For those that are mathematically challenged like me, that's 35 years. We have three sons, Jeremy, Jason, and Justin and one daughter, Michelle. We also have one very precocious grandson that will be celebrating his seventh birthday in May. His name is Hunter. Jeremy lives in Nevada, Jason and his wife Sarah live in Bryan, Texas, Justin lives in Enid, Oklahoma, and Michelle and her family (Jason and Hunter) live in Albion, Michigan. |

I am a voracious reader and cannot sleep without reading a chapter or two. Besides that, I enjoy sewing, crocheting, knitting, and an occasional DIY project. My husband humors me by working with me on most of my remodel projects. When my daughter is in town she likes to be my DIY buddy, and whenever I visit my son, Jason, in Texas, he makes sure there is a DIY project to work on there as well. I am also an artist, but reserve that hobby for during my art class (when I can fit it in) and Art Club after school on Thursdays. My students enjoy it when I sit with them and draw and I enjoy their company as well. I am very drawn presently to "hyperrealism" and am currently working on my second Mother Teresa picture. This one is of her hands clasped in her lap, holding a rosary. My favorite media to work with are pen and ink, and pencil, but I enjoy chalk pastels every now and then. |
